Our Church History
In the summer of 2005, Bishop Donald Jackson, then Junior Minister in the House Hold of Faith Church of the Living God Pillar and Ground of the Truth Inc., began praying concerning his transition in ministry, now that Bishop Johnson had died. On July 13, while being led to attend a tent revival held by Bishop P.F. Chambers, the Lord spoke to Bishop G.W. Chambers, the newly appointed presiding prelate of the House Hold of Faith Churches, and told Minister Jackson to go to Florence, SC and start a mission.
Minister Jackson along with his wife Sister Vanessa Jackson, his children Kwanza Benjamin, Ahmad and Arthenius Jackson, his nephew Brother Amendez Benjamin and his family, heeded to the mandate of the Lord and on July 26, 2005, held their first service as the Florence Chapter Mission. Walking by faith, the Lord continued to add to the church. On August 5, 2005, the first service opened to the public was held. The Lord showed then he would bless the house with his presence. It was a full house that night the visitors came from all directions. Over the next few months the scripture was being fulfilled as the Lord was adding to the church.
As the ministry began to grow with the youth of Francis Marion University and other young souls, the quaint corner of 2815 Palmetto St. was no longer able to hold the vision. There was a definite need for a new building to carry out the work of the Lord. After a tedious search, Pastor Jackson finalized 121 Marigold St. to be the new home of the Florence Mission, and there we’d strive in the vineyard earnestly. As the years went by and the church grew, through trials and errors the Lord continued to bless the house. In 2007, at the 50th birthday Celebration of Pastor Jackson, Bishop G.W Chambers was again moved by God. He elevated the Florence Mission to Household of Faith Church #9 “The Florence Chapter”. Then, May 1, 2009 Florence Chapter became an established Non-Profit Organization in the state of South Carolina.
Pastor Jackson believed firmly in Eccl. 12:1 “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them” and he knew that it was most important to create a place of worship where the young and broken souls could find a place of refuge. In August 2010, Pastor Jackson was officially installed into the Ecclesiastical Order as Pastor of Florence Chapter Ministries by Bishop Alfred E. Williams- Bishop of Protocol of the Sounds of Praise PFM Inc. and Bishop Tony McEleven- Presiding Bishop of the Greater Faith World Outreach Ministries. Later that year, during the Fall Feast Pastor Jackson was led by God to transition the church into an independent ministry. Though scorned and looked upon, Pastor Jackson knew that God had greater in store for the ministry and he could not not do it.
Accepting the call to lead the ministry into its next phase, Dr. Jackson accepted the mantle to rule as the presiding prelate of the Florence Chapter Ministries. On October 16, 2010, he was consecrated into the Bishopric by Bishop Roosevelt Johnson, Presiding Bishop of the Repairers of the Breach: God’s Eleventh Hour Vineyard Workers.
From bondage to freedom, isolation to incorporation, God through Bishop Jackson has led this ministry to its life changing status today. Men, women, boys and girls throughout the state of South Carolina and the east coast have found security within the ministry. As we strive to Pursue the Glory of God we continue to find ourselves in the word… “ Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people (Isaiah 56:7).
